Filipino Student Society of The University of Sydney

The Filipino Student Society of The University of Sydney (FSSUSYD) is a university-based societal community of students and alumni, affiliated with The University of Sydney, who share a love for Filipino culture. AIMS 1. Foster a sense of community among the Filipinos within the University of Sydney 2. Promote an appreciation of Philippine culture within the University community 3. Act as support network for Filipino students currently enrolled at the University 4. Collaborate with Filipino organisations and societies in Australia 5. Build and nurture relationships between the University and Philippine institutions MISSION The Filipino Student Society of the University of Sydney’s mission is to establish a community that embraces the values of camaraderie and respect. The Society aims to highlight the Filipino principles of pakikisama (togetherness), pagsusulong (striving for excellence), and pagtataguyod (providing support), and works towards a stronger and more passionate community of students promoting and appreciating Filipino culture while paying homage to Australian traditions. VISION The Filipino Student Society of the University of Sydney visualises itself as a community of student-advocates for Filipino cultures and traditions. It further envisions students embodying the Filipino spirit and maximising their presence in Australia by honing their knowledge and skills through the Society’s cultural and career-related events.
