FTC ROGO

ROGO is an all-girl FIRST robotics team with the mission to inspire girls to explore their interests in STEM. We are part of the USC Robotics Club in Upper St. Clair, PA. WHY ROGO? We are not just an all-girls competitive robotics team. We are building the next generation of future STEM leaders. ROGO believes in building both STEM-related and 21st century skills so our girls can prepare for the world of work and beyond to help solve world problems. We will also develop lasting friendships and a lifetime of memories. OUR APPROACH Teamwork and collaboration are key to ROGO’s success. When the team works together, they combine their unique skills and knowledge to achieve a common goal. We will take risks, think out of the box, be outside their comfort zones and show empathy, among other skills they will have the opportunity to build. Our team uses an engineering methodology as a systemic approach to reach the desired solution to a problem. This requires a team with specific functions to work collaboratively. Team members rotate roles across several functional areas to be exposed to new skills and/or deepen skills that they are interested in, including but not limited to the following: Engineering Design Process Project Management Outreach Finance Fundraising Marketing Design Build Programming Validation & Verification OUTREACH We strive to inspire and encourage young girls and others in our local community to explore areas of STEM through several outreach events especially to underserved communities.
