For The Kids is a Salt Lake City, Utah nonprofit that feeds hungry children with community donations and volunteers.
Each Friday volunteers deliver food to schools for children in need to take home for the weekend. On Mondays students return to school ready to learn with one less worry.
For The Kids focuses its efforts on serving underprivileged elementary students. We serve Title 1 schools that have high levels of food insecurity and poverty. Many of the kids who receive this food are refugees, homeless, or living with relatives.
The Goal is to fill kids’ bodies with nutrition so they can learn and concentrate better throughout the school week, helping them have a better start to a successful life. This program has a direct impact on the community and has contributed to better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior, improved health and increased attendance.
