Fundación Miradas (The Miradas Foundation) is an organization oriented to the assistance and protection of people with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Founded by the Asociación Autismo Burgos (Burgos Autism Association) in 2013, this foundation aims to support, and safeguard individuals diagnosed with any type of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by improving their quality of life and taking a variety of actions intended to defend the rights of individuals subject to their guardianship, curatorship or representation.
The Foundation fulfills this purpose by developing guardianship, representation, and social promotion actions following current legislation, and also by promoting the care and improvement of the quality of life of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. The representation and guardianship duties are fulfilled by seeking the integration of individuals diagnosed with ASD in their social environment and by guiding and advising the persons involved in their guardianship. The social promotion actions consist of providing specific training for professionals, families, and individuals with ASD, as well as conducting research and developing innovative programs that seek to meet unexpected, persistent, or inadequately satisfied needs.
