Fundatia Unu si Uni (One and One Foundations) was established in 1998. Our main missions are the reduction of food waste and supplying those in need with food. Present-day: Every day, with the help of 50 volunteers, we collect food offered by our partners, from shops and restaurants in in several Romanian cities. In addition we do run several project a month that can include not only food distribution but also the supply of other essential products for those in need, including refugees. One example is that in 2022 we supplied over 10.000 meals to Ukrainian refugees. This was next to our usual activities History: The “One and One” Foundation was established to support families with many children, the sick as well as elderly that are alone and have very low income. For the first 11 years, the “One and One” Foundation prepared and distributed a hot lunch every day, for more than 150 people, at the Social Canteen, from Sfânta Ecaterina Nr.2 Street in Bucharest. Since then our activities have expanded beyond the capital. We are active in rural areas as well as other cities like Cluj-Napoca and Braşov.
