Back in 2001, German investment companies proved the interest of using XML (extensible markup language) as a format for the exchange between the professionals of the fund industry, which was then taken up and developed further by the Austrian investment fund management industry for regulatory purposes and followed by other European fund associations.
The membership of the FundsXML Working Group 4.0 is made up of data experts from industry bodies across Europe and it aims at easing the data exchanges between cross-border countries and companies by harmonizing the data’s format.
In fifteen years and as the technologies evolved, it’s been adopted by over many companies throughout Europe and has proved its relevance.
