A family business focused in large production and wholesales of eatable mushrooms, producing a few tons of the products every month in the city of Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo. Clients range from different regions of Brazil, in cities like Porto Alegre (RS), Belo Horizonte (MG), Salvador (BA), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Fortaleza (CE), among others, and in nearer cities like São Paulo (SP) and São José dos Campos (SP).
History
Mr. Chen brought his whole family to Brazil in late 60's, when the country was still experiencing what is called the Brazillian Miracle. Unfortunately, that Brazillian Miracle ended in mid 70's, so in the following years the family struggled to survive, as economy wasn't going well, producing and selling some vegetables in small quantities.
By divine grace, the overcoming came with the opportunity to start a chinese restaurant, that ultimately became one of the most popular of the city of Mogi das Cruzes, after years. Mayors of the nearest cities even attended the restaurant, although being a small place. It was known as King Kong Restaurant.
Later, Mr. Chen decided to return to farm, this time more capitalized, and started to produce mushrooms (champignon), uncommon at that time, along with other taiwanese families that came to the same city. The family took some time to learn the difficult process of production (involves knowledges of biochemistry and cost engineering, among others), but eventually thrived and built-up a diverse clientele, and has been producing mushrooms since then.
After 40 years of immigration, family business has grown from a small farm to a bigger company, having as spin-offs a restaurant serving mixed cuisine (http://www.apollogrill.com.br/) and a japanese restaurant (https://www.facebook.com/soberanosushi/), both very known in the city.
