Fuocherello

Fuocherello is a contemporary art gallery created within the De Carli Artistic Foundry in Volvera (TO). The name references the Italian game for children, Fire-water. Fuocherello manifests the blind pursuit and the almost discovery of something we were looking for in contemporary art: sculpture. The main feature of Fuocherello is its polycentric nature, its approach focused on experimentation. The De Carli foundry is the trigger from which various fuses can light up in different places in Europe and worldwide. Romainmôtier-Envy, Neuchâtel, Switzerland, and East Hampton, New York. The programming allows artists to develop their works directly within the foundry. With the internal technical team as a support network, the artists can transform the space into a hybrid laboratory-place of learning-exhibition venue. At Fuocherello, artists can modify and develop the exhibitions and works during the entire exhibition duration. This allows viewers to see what would otherwise be hidden, an artist's practice and approach to their work, including the afterthoughts and scenarios that shape it.
