Furever Found aims to mitigate the homeless animal crisis and increase long-term rescue and rehoming efforts by creating blockchain-based animal identity tokens that contain the pet’s medical history, owner information, etc. We combine the powers of microchips’ real-world animal identities, NFTs’ flexible metadata content, and blockchain technology’s security to provide local shelters/rescue organizations, veterinarians, and pet adopters the ability to work in a coordinated effort to find homes for the stray animals in their communities.
We emphasize Quality over Quantity. We define a “successful” pet adoption to be one where the animal is not returned to a shelter/rescue organization at any point in time and is a part of their adopted family for the rest of their lifetime. Furever Found accomplishes this by focusing on the quality of adoptions, by increasing transparency using NFT metadata, as well as preventative measures, by incentivizing owners to microchip and neuter pets, to mitigate the sharp increase in homeless animals.
