Fusen Gum was one of those things that captured the essence of our childhood for us. In the 1990s and 2000s, these funky-looking bubble gums with bright packaging were the ultimate legends. Fusen gum is Japanese bubblegum made by Marukawa, a Japanese confectionery company. Marukawa began producing bubble gum in 1947, and following the success of Fusen Gum, they developed bubble gum balls in a variety of flavours. In Japanese, "Fusen" (風船) means balloon. Fusen Gum came in a fun panda-shaped package that was sure to appeal to its intended audience of kids. Another speciality of the Fusen Gum wrapping was that it came in multiple styles and patterns. Fusen Gum has an exceptionally distinct fruity aroma which you could smell even before opening the wrapper. It also felt tingly on the teeth. The free water-based temporary tattoo that came with Fusen Gum was the highlight of the product. You were only as cool as your collection of temporary tattoos. Although Fusen Gum was exported around the world, it was particularly popular in Kuwait, India, Iran and Pakistan.
