Future Meeting Space

The innovation network "Future Meeting Space" systematically anticipates relevant developments in the event industry in order to derive indications for future requirements of an organizational, technological and spatial nature. Together with a wide range of research partners, the innovation network not only identifies developments and opportunities, but also provides clear, practice-oriented recommendations for action. In this way, it aims to make a significant contribution to the further development of business events. With its 2023 research topic "Navigating Business Events in Challenging Times", the Future Meeting Space (FMS) innovation network addresses the role of business events in the current era of transformation. The GCB German Convention Bureau and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO, together with their research partners, will discuss the changing role of business events in times of multiple and simultaneous challenges. This new research focus follows on the 2022 "Redefining Event Attendance" analysis.
