Future Nursing Leadership Program

The Future Nursing Leadership program is a CSR initiative of NCO Healthcare Consulting ltd, a Nurse-led scholarship, fellowships, and professional development program in partnership with global nurse leaders designed to enable Nigerian Nurses to study and develop themselves as future nurse leaders in Nigeria, whilst joining a global community of health professionals creating positive change in Nigeria. According to the ICN 2022, Sustain and Retain Report, the main source of new supply of nurses should be to invest in training more nurses domestically. Future Nursing Scholarship Following the launch of this program, the pioneer cohort of the FNS will be aimed at starting with sponsorship and retaining a minimum of 100 nurses within the Nigerian Nursing Workforce in the next 5 years In partnership with schools and teaching hospitals in Nigeria, scholarship alumni will progress to join the Future Nursing Clinical Fellowship aimed at promoting job placements, providing professional support, and retaining past scholarship awardees in the Nursing workforce following the academic program in the university or schools of nursing. The Future Nursing Professional development program will be open to Nursing students and professionals, geared at providing a tailored mentorship pathway and continuous development program (CE unit certified) in partnership with national and global nursing leaders as well as organizations. The Future Nursing Innovation Awards will highlight, recognize, and celebrate nurse-led innovation that improves patient safety outcomes. Awards will be presented to a nurse and a nurse-led team whose product, program, project, or practice best exemplifies nurse-led innovation in patient safety and/or outcomes.
