Future Center Alliance

The Future Center Alliance (FCA) is a global community of Future Centers and similar dedicated innovation environments, as well as Living Lab practitioners in cities and regions. These organizations (e.g. Future Center Alliance Japan, Global Lab for Societal Innovation, LEF Future Center) share facilities and expertise in the work on future studies, developing models, methods and tools for creating sustainable solutions to today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. • Future Centers are not workshop spaces but knowledge creating open innovation hubs for stakeholders and users sharing insights, discovering viewpoints, building purposes: Hypothesis. • Innovation Centers (e.g. business incubators & business accelerator programs) connects the knowledge and hypothesis around the craftmanship by inventors and entrepreneurs: Prototyping. • Living Labs are public spaces, makerspaces, co-working spaces and community hubs for social (e.g. citizen) testing, experimenting, validation, co-creation and co-development: Practice.
