Galco Ropes is a family run company with more than 160 years of experience in manufacturing cords, ropes, laces and webbing. Our main activity is producing high-quality braided and twisted lines for marine, industrial, agricultural, and creative application. Our first product, shoelaces are still available. We are focused in developing custom made ropes for niche markets, while paying special attention to every step of the production. Thanks to the continuous investments in state of the art machinery and fibers together with our family’s heritage of manual labor and artisan know how enable us to realize top quality products. The main application fields of our custom made ropes are leisure and competitive sailing with special product range for Classic and Vintage yachts and wooden ships end dinghies. We have been splicing, tapering and rigging all kinds of ropes for decades. Our production takes place in Cegléd, 70 km from Budapest in Hungary. We deliver our ropes worldwide directly from our stock. Every single step of the production is under strict regulation due to the ISO 9001 quality control system. The state of the art machinery and the family’s experience gathered over the years are the warranty for reliable and constant quality products and services. For our lines, we use natural (Hemp, Hempflax, Jute, Cotton) and synthetic (Polypropylene, Polyester, Kevlar, Vectran and Dyneema) fibers from the most reliable suppliers. All PP and PES fibers we use have OEKO TEX certificate. We also use recycled materials in rope production and we strive to reduce our ecological footprint in daily manufacturing and packaging operations.
