GWO - Galician Wind Observatory

The GWO develops actions to promote transparency in legal, economic and environmental information regarding the implementation of wind farms in Galicia. Its objective is to defend the interests of landowners, forest communities, neighbourhood associations and/or any other affected group. It also proposes regulatory changes in the areas of territorial and energy planning, defends the involvement and participation of society in the production and consumption of renewable energies, and attempts to show the positive impacts of wind energy on rural Galicia. The GWO also performs: - Socio-economic and institutional studies and analyses of wind energy. - Free counseling to rural agents in the process of negotiating with wind power developers, as a tool to strengthen their position and increase the income derived from wind power activity in these rural areas.
