Over expression of galectin-3 is an important driver of morbidity and morality associated with these diseases. Galytx is developing a unique portfolio of first in class, non-carbohydrate, wholly synthetic small molecule assets that target galectin-3 to address the significant unmet clinical need in these disease areas.
Our pipeline includes both clinical and pre-clinical assets. Our lead clinical asset is a repurposed drug that has a strong and well-established safety record in chronic oral use, that enables a fast-track clinical development pathway. Our pre-clinical assets will be developed to produce high potency injectable therapeutics for acute use. Our lead disease indications are triple negative breast cancer and chronic heart failure, with our future vision to extend to address the full spectrum of galectin-3-mediated pathologies
