About Game Research Lab

Tampere University Game Research Lab carries out innovative research in games and play, organises university degree education into game studies, and builds bridges from fundamental research to societal impact in its various collaborations. The lab is headed by professor Frans Mäyrä, together with a team of experienced game researchers who together form Game Research Lab Steering Group. Game Research Lab is coordinating the Centre of Exellence in Game Culture Studies (2018–2025), a consortium between Tampere University, University of Jyväskylä, and University of Turku.
