The Gamekeepers' Welfare Trust exists to support gamekeepers, stalkers, ghillies and their dependants past and present.
We have four main areas of help:
1. Support in terms of a listening and visiting service which incorporates any area of anxiety and concern and includes retirement, ill-health, redundancy, legal problems, employment etc. Jamie's Helpline is free to call and we have a Text Line for those who prefer texting.
2. Financial Grants for two main areas of support –
a. for those in ill health or in financial difficulty within the household
b. Young people wishing to make gamekeeping their career
3. Housing. The Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust provides assistance for housing difficulties through providing information and signposting to professional expertise as appropriate. For those who have rented accommodation in retirement or redundancy situations, provision is available for those eligible to provide – grants for top up rents, deposits and other essentials
4. Provide an employment register aiming to assist those who wish to source a position as a gamekeeper, stalker or ghillie and any associated assistance i.e. C.V.s, job descriptions, contracts, and placements for apprentices
