About GAMIC - Global Automotive & Mobility Innovation Challenge
Founded in 2008, the Global Automotive & Mobility Innovation Challenge (GAMIC) exists to connect the world’s most promising startup innovations with North America’s mobility industry. Through an annual competition supported by SAE International and a wide-reaching network of mentors, sponsors, and partners, GAMIC provides startups with access to expert feedback, investor visibility, and practical support. Over the years, GAMIC has built a unique platform that blends mentorship, community, and credibility — giving innovators a low-barrier entry point to an industry that can otherwise be difficult to navigate. With no cost to apply and no equity taken, the program ensures accessibility while offering industry the chance to scout vetted technologies early in their lifecycle. Alumni have gone on to raise capital, secure pilots, and in many cases, be acquired. GAMIC identifies, mentors, and promotes global mobility innovation — and by providing startups with access to industry professionals and practical support, it helps them accelerate market penetration. In doing so, GAMIC strengthens the pipeline of innovation shaping a more sustainable and responsive mobility ecosystem. It was created in 2008 by MI Innovation Alliance - A Michigan Non-Profit 501 (C) (3) Corporation. The 18th Annual GAMIC Competition will begin accepting applications on September 1, 2025 through to December 1, 2025. Each year GAMIC invites more than 1500+ global startups to apply to the competition through F6S. GAMIC selects the Top 100 startups and runs a series of Quarter Final events through December to January 18, 2026. The Top 20 startups are selected to compete in the GAMIC Semi-Finals in February 2026 and the Top 10 companies are selected to continue to the GAMIC - SAE International WCX Finals Event in April 2026, held in Detroit, Michigan. During the GAMIC FINALS - 4 Companies are chosen as GAMIC CHAMPIONS. GAMIC ALUMNI have raised $ 2 billion USD.
