GAP 2022 Overview
The first Geostructural Aspects of Pavements, Airfields, and Railways Conference (GAP 2022) was held 4 – 7 November 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The unique event was developed in partnership with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) representatives. The focus was on sharing practical information about the geostructural aspects in an aging infrastructure and the technologies and research available to improve future designs. GAP 2022 will continue this conversation. The objectives remain to: 1. Foster communication between the main transportation sectors 2. Generate cooperation between the pavement and geotechnical disciplines 3. Advance pavement and embankment engineering technologies
