Gardeno Foundation

The Gardeno Foundation is a company that grows microgreens, processes them, and delivers them as beautifully packaged and delicious salads. Microgreens are a quick growing alternative to traditional salad greens. They can be harvested every 14 days so that every salad you buy may have been harvested and processed that day - usually only blocks from you. A QR code will be on the salad so you can see exactly where the salad came from, how it was grown, what it cost to grow, and what it took to get to you. The system is being built open-source from the start, so that an open data platform can be provided to any growers who want to join in the hyperlocal vegetable movement. Grow designs, sensor and automation techniques, etc will all be available online.
