Garigarra

garigarra prides itself on meaningfully (re)embedding and (re)centring Country through architecture and design. garigarra, a Wiradjuri word, although doesn't directly translate to english, can be understood as truth. This defines the studios process and methodology. It speaks to humility, authenticity and doing all things with care and generosity. garigarra centres all things with Country – a deep love and respect, a grounding, a way of being. garigarra goes beyond tick-box approaches to consultation. Our methodology is centred on collaboration and co-design. We form part of the core design team, opposed to small, often meaningless and last-minute contributions to projects. Our work seeks to redefine practice, ensuring designers consider the nuances and complexities of Country, bringing together both ancient and contemporary design expertise.
