Gate for Opportunity

Gate for Opportunity (GO) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to uplifting the lives of women, girls, and children across Ethiopia, with a focus on rural communities. Established in 2019, GO operates in SNNPR, Oromia, Tigray, Amhara, and Addis Ababa to foster sustainable development and gender equity. Since its founding, GO has completed four impactful projects, funded by member contributions, Civil Rights Defender (CRD) and Ethiopian Human Rights Council (EHRC), and NEWA, advancing women’s rights, education, and community well-being. In 2023, GO partnered with NEWA-Plant International on a GBV advocacy project and has prioritized capacity development to strengthen its operations. Through these efforts, GO champions women’s economic participation, household food security, gender equality, and access to education and health, contributing to poverty reduction and sustainable growth in Ethiopia.
