Gateway Arts is a studio art center dedicated to providing individualized arts-based services to adults with disabilities that will enable them to create meaningful lives and professional careers in art. Gateway serves over 100 talented individuals in the Greater Boston area. Artists are encouraged to follow their dreams and create a unique individualized career, while learning new processes and developing skills with the encouragement and support of a professional staff of artists.
As a leader in the studio art center movement, a crucial aspect of Gateway's mission is assimilation into the mainstream arts community. Artists work across a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, ceramics, jewelry, mixed media, sculpture, fabric arts, woven pieces, and clothing/accessories. Artists receive a 50% commission on works sold, in addition to representation in the Gateway Gallery, Gateway Crafts Store, and on our website: www.gatewayarts.org
Gateway Arts is a prominent player in the Outsider Art movement, with works by Gateway artists shown and sold nationally and internationally.
