Gauchos 4 Transparency is a collective group of students at UCSB calling for accountability and transparency in our student government, administration, and other campus affiliated organizations/leaders.
We are an organization independent of party politics. We do not have an affiliation with any group, which gives us full autonomy and independence.
Eventually, we would like to connect the whole UC student population, similarly to CALPRIG, but different. CALPIRG is specifically focused on solving issues “facing our society” such as textbook affordability, renewable energy, and voter registration. While those are important issues, our intention is to target more specific issues that occur over the course of the year that are more localized.
We strive to create individual branches at each UC and a UC wide coalition of students that specifically focus on accountability and transparency issues, the first of its kind. We are eager to create a greater community and connection between the other UC campuses, because if we are connected, the amount of power we have to create change is incredible.
