Measuring detailed movement behaviour provides essential information, but the technical challenges of recording and analyzing this kind of data are an insurmountable barrier for most practitioners. Gaze and Movement Analysis (GaMA) is a suite of tools and services, built on more than a decade of basic science research, that will make this rich sensorimotor information broadly accessible. We believe GaMA can improve sensorimotor performance assessment in the real world, increase VR/AR training / assessment effectiveness, and provide enjoyable and efficient user experiences: Real world sensorimotor assessment: From the jobsite, to the cab of a vehicle, to the sideline of sports events, to patients in the emergency room being able to quickly and accurately assess sensorimotor performance can literally mean life or death. Combining new deep learning approaches to motion tracking from video with next generation eye trackers GaMA can provide a rapid, cheap, and mobile recording platform that can be deployed in almost any environment. Virtual / Augmented Reality (VR/AR) training / assessment: Replacing costly in-person or ineffective online training / assessment with immersive VR/AR is a massive boon for any company. But, there are no standard metrics used to evaluate performance in VR/AR nor standard practices to measure if VR/AR training has the intended impact on improving competency. GaMA helps companies convert training into learning. User Experience (UX): Nearly every person on the planet has access to a device (computer, tablet and/or smartphone) capable of generating gaze (webcam eye tracking) and movement (cursor) data relevant for UX design. GaMA helps companies make their software and websites easier to use by giving information about how a user’s experience unfolds in time and space. This allows them to streamline their design process, predicting which UX elements prevent a wayward look or misclick and improve interaction efficiency.
