gBat is a patented, gravity-based mechanical energy storage technology, similar in principle to pumped hydro storage technology. Like pumped hydro storage, our technology offers many benefits over electro-chemical batteries (e.g., Li-ion batteries) for long-duration large-scale storage including low cost, high lifespan, better safety, and with no supply chain issues and end-of-life environmental concerns. But unlike pumped hydro, it does not suffer from issues like strict geographical requirements, high capital requirements, and long construction time.
We have concluded the initial engineering analysis and working towards raising funds towards a prototype and feasibility study.
