The Glass Education Exchange (GEEX) is an online platform supporting glass learning through community-building programming and resource-sharing. Founded in 2020, GEEX responds to the pressures of virtual learning during an aggregate of epidemics (coronavirus and racial violence).
GEEX programming acts as a virtual classroom that bridges communities and fulfills unmet needs in and outside of academic glass. No-/low-cost GEEX programs increase access to professional development tools of: networking, support, writing guidance, critical dialog, and even preventive maintenance.
Our premiere program, GEEX Talks, centers BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists to expand contemporary glass narratives. Our subscription base comprises almost half the American academic glass programs, whose support makes this series publicly accessible.
GEEX encourages open-source learning through the Glass Resource Exchange, where users can find and share educational materials. The Resource Exchange is a new archival model for craft communities: a virtual textbook emphasizing longevity, utility, and user-contributions.
