Based on the conviction that the energy of the future cannot come from conventional, finite sources, for over 20 years we have been putting all our energy into the ongoing development of our products for the use of the ever-present, environmentally friendly energy source that is biomass. Since 1999, we have been developing biogas technology and combined heat and power plants from the planning stage to market launch. In Germany, more than five nuclear power plant equivalents have already been replaced by biomass electricity generation. The many thousands of decentralized biomass feed-in plants not only produce and supply electricity, but also heat, thus making a decisive contribution to the energy turnaround. Biomass plants have the most favorable CO2 equivalent of all renewable energy sources and are the only form of energy sources to have a negative CO2 balance – given that both heat and electricity are used. In addition, biomass is the only form of energy with base load capability, meaning that it supplies electricity even when the sun and wind are absent. Electricity generated with biogas can be fed into the natural gas grid after processing, so that every connection owner can use this form of energy with the best CO2 balance.
