GeMech Room Below is part of the GeMech Foundations group of companies whose activities comprise, specialist foundation design, piling and ground improvement, construction of new build and retrofit basements, steel and concrete frames. Although we can trace our roots in the foundations market back to 1979, we constructed our first retrofit basement in 1992 when we acted as a specialist sub-contractor tasked with building a two storey basement under an existing sub-basement across a terrace of houses, which became one of London’s premier designer boutique hotels. To date we have constructed 212 basement substructures ranging in value from £150,000 to £2.5 million pounds. In 2018 we introduced Vacuum Excavation which is environmentally friendly, faster, cleaner, safer method of excavation and does not require skips on the road overnight. Our Managing Director was the inspiration and founder member of ASUC, The Association Of Specialist Underpinning Contractors which was formed in 1992. We believe in a combination of old fashioned values and modern techniques, we have no Mission Statements, no Corporate mumbo jumbo, just a life times experience in Civil Engineering and how to build the very best basements money can buy.
