The Gemfields Foundation has two charitable purposes:
1. To further the prevention or relief of poverty by providing grants and awards to charities and/or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.
2. The advancement of animal welfare and the conservation and protection of wildlife and natural habitats by providing grants and awards to charities and/or other organisations working in the field of wildlife protection.
The Foundation undertakes projects in sub-Saharan Africa, in the locations of Ethiopia, Madagascar, Mozambique, South Africa and Zambia. Click below to donate or see more information on the types of projects that the Foundation supports.
Overheads - including management and expertise - are fully absorbed by Gemfields Limited, and Trustees donate their time free of charge. This means that every single dollar of funding into and out of the Foundation will be used to realise projects that meet its charitable purposes.
We welcome financial contributions to the Foundation, and any donations will be highly valued. Any donations made to the Foundation may attract tax benefits in your country or in a personal capacity (please seek independent financial advice).
