About Gator Emergency Medical Response Unit

The Gator Emergency Medical Response Unit (GEMRU) is a student-run volunteer EMS unit under the University of Florida Police Department, staffed by certified EMTs and First Responders. GEMRU responds to all medical emergencies that occur on UF campus and manages initial patient assessment and treatment. GEMRU also provides medical standby at university events, such as home football games, baseball games, concerts, and more. Additionally, GEMRU conducts CPR, Stop the Bleed, and Medical Amnesty classes and presentations for the community! The mission of the Gator Emergency Medical Response Unit is to deliver high-quality emergency medical services and community health initiatives to the University of Florida, fostering a safer, more conscientious campus community.
