It's clear that conscious consumerism is on the rise and buyers are starting to rely on standardized certifications such as B Lab’s B Corp Certification to distinguish responsible, purpose-driven companies from those that falsely claim positive impact. To certify as a B Corp, companies must use B Lab's comprehensive B Impact Assessment to measure their impact in areas such as Environment, Governance, and Community, and reach a minimum score of 80/200 points. Here's the coolest part: B Lab recently celebrated a milestone of 5,000 Certified B Corps globally! With a growing number of businesses certified and equipped to market their unique value, an opportunity is created for increased public awareness about the B Movement and consequently, increased pressure on large multinational market leaders to meet the same rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency that Certified B Corps uphold.
