As an independent, high-level advisory body, the Gender Equality Advisory Council (GEAC) develops recommendations on gender equality issues across the entire G7 agenda, bringing together experts from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. The first G7 GEAC was convened in 2018 by the then Canadian G7 Presidency. Since then, this advisory council has also been convened in 2019 under the French G7 Presidency and in 2021 under the British G7 Presidency. During Germany’s G7 Presidency in 2022, Chancellor Olaf Scholz convened the current advisory council, GEAC Germany 2022.
