Generation Mendel

We are a team of students from many different fields, brought together by our interest in natural sciences. One of our activities is participating in the international competition in synthetic biology iGEM. That entails carrying out our own scientific project - from project design and fundraising to working in the lab and presenting our results at a global conference. Besides iGEM, we also focus on the popularisation of science, specifically genetically modified organisms (GMOs). We organize public lectures and other events to inform and educate the general public about this topic. Our efforts are interdisciplinary - in addition to synthetic biology and science communication, our team also dabbles in mathematical modeling, finances, graphic design, and marketing. We are also interested in the legislature behind GMO regulations.
