Generation STEM is a Community of volunteers who work with young people in our local communities to encourage them and equip them with the skills needed for a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) career.
What we do:
Industry awareness to raise profile of the industry sector to support future skills pipeline.
Provide career path options & advice which includes Guest speaker events where engineers, scientists & technologists provide career overviews.
Arrange Baker Hughes site visits and tours of manufacturing facilities, overviews of products & technology for students.
Skills development through practicing design thinking, problem solving & innovation for technology careers.
Curriculum projects aligned with the schools for Problem solving energy transition examples in addition to lean projects where simulations of lean working practices are carried out.
Work experience rotations at Baker Hughes.
Personal branding coaching to increase self awareness, making positive impressions and taking personal responsibility.
Public speaking coaching through effective tools & methods for audience engagement.
