OUR STORY
Our founding partners represent over 45 years of experience providing for the financial and insurance needs of their clients and families. Joan Lyons, Wendy Bowes, and Michael Barrett first met while advisors at MetLife. It was during this time that they forged friendships that proved to be the foundation for their future partnership. Through conducting joint work and utilizing each other’s individual areas of expertise, they developed a high level of trust and respect for the diligence and ethical standards that each displayed while working with their clients.
Although all three felt confident in the products Metlife offered, the financial industry was changing rapidly. The need to be able to provide holistic financial advice without any perceived conflicts of interest and maintain full autonomy of their business was more important than ever. They decided it was time to pursue an environment that was more consistent with the needs of their practice. They embarked on an 18-month process of research and due diligence to ensure they made the right decision. Through this process they identified the independent financial advisor model as just the place for their practices. By the middle of 2015 they came to a decision and launched Generations Asset Management
