GenIMPACT: Centre for Economic Impacts of Genomic Medicine undertakes cutting-edge research on the economic impacts of genetic disorders and cost-effectiveness of genomic technologies and personalised medicine. GenIMPACT’s research aims to improve human health by striving to understand and quantify the transformative potential of genomic medicine across the life course and, in many cases, across generations. Led by Distinguished Professor Deborah Schofield with Deputy Director A/Prof Rupendra Shrestha since 2018, our highly collaborative work has been helping to shape some of government’s most pressing and complex challenges. Our multidisciplinary research addresses health, economic, and social policy agendas spanning intellectual disability, genetic blindness, mitochondrial disorders, cancer, arthritis, mental health disorders, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease, and preconception carrier screening. We are also leaders in analysis of the inequality impacts of health conditions and related policy (including income and spatial inequality). Visit our website to learn more about GenIMPACT's work and how we can work with you to make a difference.
