We believe everyone’s a genius in some way and if we can get daily frustrations out of their way, they will realize it. So our small business is dedicated to making every day in the lab a little easier by listening to and solving your small daily frustrations in research. The Lab Coat Project was driven by our Founder, Derek, after he dealt with bad lab coats for over a decade and decided to do something about it. By collecting feedback from over 1500 scientists to inform the design and then crowdfunding the manufacturing, he was able to design next-generation lab coats that are now being used in labs like MIT, Stanford, SpaceX, NREL, LLNL, NASA JPL, and Dow Chemical. Most common lab tools are designed for the science, not the scientist. Ignoring the needs of the person creates many little frustrations that can ruin your day, at best, and at worst, can even push people away from scientific research altogether. Designing our lab coats and other tools around the person is the key that Derek uncovered which led to our incredible growth. Our world is facing so many problems that we need to solve with science - from climate change, to global pandemics, to the poisoning of our land and oceans - that we can’t afford to lose a single scientist or engineer for the work we have ahead of us. Genius Lab Gear was created to solve these daily frustrations and make laboratories a more enjoyable, fulfilling, and rewarding place to work.
