GENOSOPHY, is the first spin-off company of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) founded by Kalliopi Gkouskou, Assistant Professor of Biology & Genetics, and Aristides Eliopoulos, Professor of Biology & Genetics and Head of Department of Biology at the Medical School of NKUA, following several years of R&D.
Our vision is to address the unmet need for a predictive, preventive, personalized and participatory wellness service. We have developed one of the most comprehensive genetic tests for diet-related diseases worldwide, coupled to an innovative machine learning algorithm that enables individuals to harmonize their nutrition and lifestyle with their genetic make-up.
The Genosophy® platform received the NKUA INNOVATION AWARD in 2023.
The company will continue to pursue discovery and innovation by incorporating several layers of health and biological data to identify patterns that correlate with wellness and uncover modifiable transitions between health and disease. We explore polygenic and multifactorial risk scores for susceptibility to diet-associated diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease, and focus on actionable bioclinical data that provide answers to “what to eat to stay healthy”, the essence of Precision Nutrition.
