The Geotechnical Engineering for Climate Adaptation and Resilient Environments (Geo-CARE) Lab focuses on advancing innovative geotechnical solutions to build infrastructure that withstands the evolving challenges posed by climate change. Our research covers critical areas, including the impact of climate change on geotechnical infrastructure, sustainable and resilient infrastructure development, and solutions for problematic soils through advanced biogeotechnics. We are pioneering AI-driven, twin IoT-enabled frameworks for real-time monitoring, supporting data-driven decision-making (DDM) to enhance the adaptability and durability of geotechnical structures.
In addition, our lab explores the application of 3D printing, numerical methods in geotechnical engineering, and the design of underground structures. By integrating interdisciplinary approaches and cutting-edge technology, we aim to reduce environmental impact while ensuring infrastructure longevity and resilience in a changing climate. The Geo-CARE Lab is dedicated to research and actively engages in educational and outreach efforts that foster collaboration among communities, engineers, researchers, and policymakers to improve the resiliency and sustainability of critical infrastructure.
