Environment Agency Geomatics

The Geomatics team, a specialist business unit within the Environment Agency, is a leader in high quality LIDAR survey and remote sensing data capture, for the provision of integrated spatial data solutions. Our geospatial products help support a wide range of applications including environmental planning, flood monitoring and asset management. We offer the capability to capture a range of data types including LIDAR, digital aerial photography, hyperspectral and bathymetry. Our archive of LIDAR data covering over 75% of England is now Open Data and available free of charge and without restriction to download from www.data.gov.uk and http://environment.data.gov.uk/ds/survey/#/survey?. Our high resolution digital aerial photography, Bathymetry data and CASI data is also available online as Open Data. We are currently in the middle of a 3 year programme to survey the whole of England with 1m LIDAR by 2020.
