Georgetown Cyber

Georgetown Cyber is a small, family-owned business that specializes in providing cybersecurity risk management and compliance advisory support services to cloud service providers that are looking to sell into regulated customer bases (Federal Civilian, DoD, State & Local). Georgetown Cyber, formerly Federal Business Development (FedBD), was founded by John Cronin in 1993, with a focus on providing business development, sales, and strategy support to IT software and service providers seeking work with the US Federal Government. Like his father, Ben kicked-off his career working in sales and account management for a defense contractor which specialized in providing cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) solutions and services. In order to get closer to the technical work, and expand his expertise in the field, Ben obtained a Master's Degree in Cybersecurity Risk Management from Georgetown University, before moving into federal risk management and compliance advisory consulting, which is his current full-time role. Ben formerly assumed ownership of FedBD (D.B.A. Georgetown Cyber) in 2022, to serve as an entity under which direct 1099 consulting engagements could be facilitated.
