IST Geospatial Society

IST Geospatial Society is the only student-led geospatial society in Pakistan, operating under the state-of-the-art Earth Observation Lab at the Institute of Space Technology (IST). With four core technical teams and a thriving community of over 300 active students, the society is committed to fostering innovation, collaboration, and capacity building in the geospatial domain. Driven by a vision to contribute both nationally and internationally, IST Geospatial Society actively collaborates with leading organizations such as NCGSA, FARMDAR, NDMA, PMD, and others. The society frequently organizes workshops, hands-on training programs, and cutting-edge geospatial projects to equip students with modern skills and technologies. Notably, the society secured a prestigious Google Research Grant for its contributions to Earth Observation and proudly developed Asia’s No. 1 Geospatial AI solution, GeoGemma, which earned the “Best AI Use Case Award” at the Solution Challenge 2025.
