GetPet is a social iniciative, that aims to make homeless pets adoption process more effective, as well as promote society a responsible decision making in this field.
There are three initial steps which we believe to achieve our goal:
1. Find. Mobile APP - is a tool that is created to unify all the shelters and list all homeless pets living there in a single platform to make finding of the one a faster and easier process. The app is easy, almost intuitive to use: go through a list of pet profiles and choose the ones you like by swiping the picture right or skip others by swiping left. Access all the profiles that you've liked in your favorites list and decide which may be the one.
2. Meet. "A date" approach - don't expect to get a family member from the first time. Falling in love from a first sight doesn't happen every time too. We encourage to make a list of favorite pets and go on a date. Meet the homeless pet in the shelter, spend time together, see if you get along with each other. It's nothing wrong to go on a second date, or a third. It's much better to make a reasonable and responsible decision and choose the right one, instead of picking too fast and bringing the pet back to a shelter after a while. Dates are fun for pets too!
3. Adopt. We believe that first times are not easy. It is human to feel lost and have questions. Especially with a pet that has experience and history - mature personalities are harder to get along. That is why, we believe that pet-adoption process is worth mentoring. Just like in any field we involve ourselves for the first time (kinder garden, school, university, profession, new hobby) we always get a teacher who leads us into it. GetPet offers an adoption-mentor program. Families of adopted pets have an option of receiving mentor support through a person who shares own experience in raising a pet, helps to solve possible issues and supports during the initial period when a pet arrives to a new home.
