Within the Sakarya University Faculty of Medicine Experimental Medicine Applications and Research Center (SÜDETAM), our research is carried out in two different laboratories, a cancer cell culture laboratory and a nano medicine research laboratory. Our basic cancer studies are mainly on the following topics: i) changes in the activity of signaling pathways that cause drug resistance in triple-negative breast cancer and metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, which has a particularly aggressive character and poor prognosis, ii) the molecular effect levels of drug candidates whose clinical phase studies are ongoing, iii) therapeutic efficacy of nanoparticulate drug delivery systems and combination therapy options in overcoming drug resistance. In the nano medicine research laboratory, multidisciplinary researches are carried out with different basic/clinical disciplines within the school of medicine and in the training and research hospital affiliated to the Sakarya University. Our clinical studies, which we carry out in cooperation with different departments such as infectious diseases, internal medicine and dermatology, especially general surgery and medical oncology, are ongoing.
