In 1959, the Golden Gate Chapter of the American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers (ASHVE) and San Francisco Section of the American Society of Refrigeration Engineers (ASRE) united to become the Golden Gate Chapter of ASHRAE.
The chapter currently has about 900 members; including consulting engineers, contractors, sales representatives, facilities engineers, and academics from all over the Northern California Bay Area. Our Redwood Empire Section includes GGASHRAE members with a presence in the Napa/Sonoma area. We are a part of ASHRAE Region X, which encompasses 14 chapters throughout Arizona, Nevada, California, and Hawaii.
