Global Health Alliance

Global Health Alliance is an American student organization founded at the University of Chicago that seeks to promote health equity via sustainable and ethical nonprofit partnerships. WEBSITE: https://www.ghauchicago.com. Our partners are both domestic and abroad. GHA's unique partnership model integrates student global/public health education with effective nonprofit partnership (fundraising, collaboration on local initiatives, grant-writing, etc). In integrating education with action, GHA is effective in mobilizing the resources of a number of American universities and communities in support of innumerable specific healthcare disparities facing individuals throughout the world. Global Health Alliance at the University of Chicago was founded by two students, Uma Balachandran and Dillan Prasad, in early 2020 as a response to the collapse of the group GlobeMed. Several GHA chapters in casual partnership with UChicago at exist at universities including MIT, Wisconsin, Michigan, and UT Austin.
