Gilbert Wines is a family-owned, operated and run wine producer in the Mount Barker sub region of the Great Southern wine region.
Gilbert Wines was established in 1985 by Jim & Bev Gilbert who are the third generation of Gilberts to work the land.
The philosophy is to grow great flavours for the world to enjoy!
Four regional "hero" grape varieties are grown on the Estate. The vines, draw from the rich gravelly loam soils of Mount Barker exhibiting the terroir of this exceptional region. High quality wines produced include Riesling, Shiraz, Chardonnay & Cabernet.
The cellar door opened in 1990, is rich in history being a renovated old apple packing shed. The first two generations of Gilberts worked the land in the apple industry, producing great flavours for the world to enjoy. A wine cafe was added to the cellar door in 2003 with stunning views out to the Porongurup National Park.
Each label in our range of wines have unique stories to be told!
Jim and Bev Gilbert had three sons so no guessing where the inspiration for the '3 Devils' range or the '3 Lads' range originates.
There are many stories to tell and share with our wine range and rich family history.
Today the business is run and operated by Bev Gilbert and two of her sons Clinton and Matthew Gilbert. The philosophy remains the same - growing great flavours for the world to enjoy!
