Die GILUPI GmbH entwickelt, seit der Firmengründung 2006, auf Basis eigener patentierter Entwicklungen, neue diagnostische Produkte zur in vivo - Isolation von seltenen Zellen aus dem Blut. Dabei konzentriert sich die GILUPI GmbH derzeit auf den onkologischen Diagnostikmarkt. Gezielte individuelle onkologische Therapien werden in den nächsten Jahren mehr und mehr an klinischen Wert gewinnen. Die korrekte Identifizierung des richtigen Medikaments für den Patienten wird dabei die Herausforderung sein. Um diesen Bedarf zu adressieren, werden durch eine einfache und wenig belastende Anwendung des GILUPI CellCollector® seltene Zielzellen (zirkulierende Tumorzellen) angereichert. Hierbei werden die zirkulierenden Tumorzellen direkt aus dem Blutkreislauf „gefischt“ und können anschließend mit verschiedenen diagnostischen Verfahren charakterisiert bzw. auf molekularer Ebene analysiert werden. Die Beobachtung des Patienten während und nach der Beendigung der Krebsbehandlung wird dadurch möglich. Der behandelnde Arzt kann mit dem diagnostischen Ergebnis außerdem zusätzliche Informationen über den aktuellen Krankheitszustand erhalten und gegebenenfalls die aktuelle Therapie anpassen bzw. eine optimale Therapie auswählen. Der GILUPI CellCollector® ist das erste zugelassene Produkt mit dieser neuen und innovativen Technologie. Er ist weltweit das erste Produkt zur in vivo - Isolation von zirkulierenden Tumorzellen mit einer CE – Zertifizierung.
